The Shawnee Wolves earned their first win at the 23rd Annual Aggie Classic in Pensacola, Fla., Tuesday with a 3-2 win over Nashville’s Christ Presbyterian Academy in nine innings of play.
Both teams had six hits with the Wolves’ Eli Davis leading the way with four and two RBIs, including a walk-off single in the ninth.
Teddy Roberts was hit by a pitch to lead off the inning before advancing to second on a sacrifice bunt from Cole Payne. Davis knocked a shot to center to bring Roberts home from scoring position.
Davis also pitched for the Wolves for six innings striking out 10 batters. He gave up four hits and walked two, pitching a no-hitter into the fifth inning. Wyatt Oliver replaced Davis in the seventh, walking one and giving up a homer before being replaced by Jake Taylor for the remainder.
Taylor was awarded the win, giving up one hit and striking out three in three innings on the rubber.
The Wolves will be back at it Wednesday as they face off against Milton High School from Pensacola, Florida.
