Bethel baseball continued their unbeaten streak with wins over Chandler and Putnam City at the Mark Howard Tournament in Chandler on Tuesday. The Wildcats topped Putnam 12-9 in first and later dropped Chandler 4-2 in the night cap.

Caleb Smith was 3-for-5 in the win over Putnam with two RBIs and Cody Gingrich was 3-for-5 with a triple. Brady Sullivan and Zach Tyler each knocked out doubles.

Josh Elmore earned his second win of the season on the mound.

Trailing 7-2, Bethel brought in three runs in the third to get within two. Putnam added another pair in the top of the fifth before the Wildcats rallied with six runs in the bottom of the inning to take the lead.

Caleb Smith pitched a complete game to top Chandler in the Wildcats second game of the night. Smith gave up three hits and allowed two runs in the win.

Gingrich had another good performance at the plate with a double, single and two walks. Andrew Barr was 2-for-4 as the only other multi-hit batter.

Chandler earned their only runs in the second to go ahead 2-1 in the bottom of the inning. Bethel picked up the pace with a pair of runs in the fifth and one more in the seventh to seal the win.

The Wildcats (6-0) will face the Chandler JV team in today’s semifinal.
