The Shawnee baseball team couldn’t find runs to go with their hits Wednesday, falling to Milton 9-2 in their third game of the Aggie Classic in Pensacola, Fla.

Jake Taylor got the Wolves out to an early lead to reach base on a fielder’s choice to shortstop and bring home Eli Davis. Davis doubled to left field two batters prior and advanced to third on a Milton error.

Milton put up four runs in the bottom of the second and two in the third to go ahead 6-1 through three innings.

With one out and bases loaded in the second A.J. Barron beaned a Milton batter to score their first run of the game. They followed up with a sacrifice to score one more and a double to bring in two runs.

Teddy Robertson bunted down the third base line to lead off the fourth with a single and Logan Franklin doubled to left field to move Robertson to third. Cole Payne grounded out to single to bring in Robertson for Shawnee’s only other run of the game.

Taylor was 2-for-4 with a double and an RBI and Franklin was 1-for-3.

Barron pitched for 2.1 innings giving up six runs on eight hits. Josh Kasterke allowed two hits and three runs with a homer in one inning pitched. Cale Reed finished things up, striking out three batters in 2.2 innings without giving up a hit.
