Asher baseball got off to a strong start on a 3-game series against Wanette with an 11-3 win at home Thursday.

The Indians jumped ahead 3-0 at the end of the first inning adding one more in the second before going on a 5-run rally in the fourth. They capped off with a couple more runs in the fifth and the 9-inning run was called after seven on a run-ruling.

Braden Sander pitched for five innings giving up three runs on five hits and whiffing 12 in his first win of the season on the mound. Junior Hasbell pitched the last two innings allowing one hit and striking out three.

Chris McDonald led the way for the Indians at the plate with four hits, one a double. Preston Patton had two knocks and Braden Sanders had four.

The win was Asher's second of the season to move their record to 2-1. The three-game series is set to conclude today beginning at four.
