The International Finals Youth Rodeo kicked off Sunday night with participants taking part in their first of two go's in eleven events that will last through Friday night.
Peyton Glenn from Edmond topped the board in the first go of barrel racing with a time of 16.472 seconds. Tmber Allenbrand of Paola, Kansas took second (16.694), Lindsey Priola from Lacassine, Louisiana third (16.986) and Mia Belcher from Piedmont finished fourth with a 17.021 run.
Lexi Gunter from Sulphur, Louisiana weaved through to first place in pole bending's first go with a time of 20.038. Mikayla Joh Almond of Olin, North Carolina took second at 20.336, Kinlie Brennise finished third with a 20.430 out of Craig, Colorado and Kathryn Todd from Tuttle took fourth with a 21.129.
In the first go of breakaway roping Lauryn Hoagland from Harpersville, Alabama topped the leaderboards with a score of 2.7. Alli Tate from Vincent, Alabama took second with a 3.0, Katy Fogleman from Lake Charles, Louisiana third (3.4) and Katlyn Melvin of Paradise, Texas and Allenbrand tied for fourh with a 3.5.
Bryan Texas' Jessica Garret rolled through her first go of goat tying with a score of 7.6, well ahead of Maddy Dickens from Loveland, Colorado with an 8.4. Hannah Martin from Junction, Texas, Kathryn Todd from Tuttle and Allenbrand held a 3-way tie for third with an 8.5.
Paden Bray out of Granbury, Texas took first in calf roping with a 9.1 in his first go while Logan Cook from Alto, Texas finished with a 9.3 for second. Jamie Haney of Odessa, Florida took third (9.8) and Colty Papy from Ocala, Florida fourth with a 9.9.
Sterling Lee of Gotebo took first with a 5.2 in the first go of steer wrestling. Spin Edwards from Midway, Texas took second (6.2), John Mayes of Welsh, Louisiana third (6.5) and Grant Morein of Ville Platte finished fourth with a 7.1.
Herald California's Cameron Messier took first in the first go of saddle bronc as the only one to put up a score and Lane McGehee of Victoria, Texas led the bareback bronc with an 81.5. Jess Pope of Garnett, Kansas took second with a 76.5 and Trey Thomas from Elkhart, Texas took third with 64 points.
Cooper Lee from Quitman, Arkansas and Booker McCutchen of Harrison tied Trenton Norris of Yantis, Texas and Dane Reed from Sumner with a 6.3 for first in the team roping competition.
