PRAGUE — Quarterback Matt Headley ran for three touchdowns and passsd for another Friday night as Prague launched the 2016 season by riddling Lincoln County rival Chandler 39-6.
Prague led 26-0 by halftime and substituted liberally in the second half.
The only first quarter scoring came at the 7:51 mark when Tristin Jorgensen intercepted a Chandler pass and returned in 97 yards for a touchdown. Headley kicked the extra point for a 7-0 lead.
Prague tallied 19 points in the second quarter and Headley was involved in all three touchdowns. He posted two 1-yard runs and threw a 32-yard scoring strike to Ray Embry for the other TD.
After Chandler scored its sole TD in the third quarter, Prague tallied two fourth quarter touchdowns — a Headley run and a 16-yard Roderick Burdine pass reception from Headley.
Headley was 15 of 21 through the air for 179 yards.
Jorgensen recorded five receptions for 53 yards. Teammate Braden Alexander hauled in three passes for 49 yards.
Freshman Austin Lee of Prague rushed for 48 yards on 12 carries. Austin Chesser of Prague added 33 yards on five rushes.
Prague will continue the non-district portion of its schedule Friday at Meeker.
