Sophomore Delanie Manning sparkled on the mound and at the plate Friday, propelling Dale to an 11-3 victory over visiting Spiro.
The game was called after six innings on the run rule.
Manning (9-1) scattered eight hits while striking out four. She didn’t issue a walk.
Manning also drove in five runs with a bases-loaded double in the third inning and a 2-run single in the fifth..
Dale tallied six runs in the fifth to make it 10-3, then earned the run-rule decision with a single run in the sixth.
Sophomore Lacey Savage of Dale went 3 for 3, including two doubles.
Freshman Montanna Lam knocked in two runs off two singles.
“We played pretty good. Spiro has good pitching,” Dale coach Andy Powell said.
Dale, ranked No. 1 in Class 2A, will entertain Chandler, ranked No. 1 in 3A, at 5 p.m. Monday.
“That will be a big one,” said Powell. “Neleigh Herring of Chandler is really a good pitcher. We are looking forward to Monday.”
Herring is 9-0 on the season.
