MEEKER — Crown Prague the Lincoln County football champion for 2016.
After blistering Chandler 39-6 in last week’s season opener, Prague pounded Meeker 33-0 Friday night in another non-district encounter.
Prague avenged a 28-19 setback to Meeker last season.
Meeker, despite collecting 154 yards rushing on 29 carries Friday, didn’t enter Meeker’s red zone.
The Bulldogs committed six turnovers — two interceptions and four fumbles — in their season opener. One of the fumbles was on a punt with another coming on a kickoff.
The Red Devils set the tone early as Ray Embry returned the opening kickoff to the Prague 10 and Austin Chesser scored from there.
The Red Devils scored two more touchdowns in the first quarter for a 21-0 advantage. Chesser scored on a 4-yard run and Tristan Jorgensen caught a 14-yard pass from Matt Headley.
A 9-yard scoring strike from Headley to Embry in the second quarter allowed Prague to post a 27-0 halftime advantage.
Prague concluded the scoring in the third quarter as Jorgensen scampered five yards.
Headley completed 10 of 16 passes for 140 yards with no interceptions.
Prague didn’t commit a turnover.
Embry and Jorgensen had an interception apiece.
Prague will continue its season Friday night at Luther. Meeker will play host to Chandler.
The next Red Devil home contest is Sept. 16 versus Cashion.
