BETHEL – Tecumseh running back Corban Stanger set the tone in Tecumseh's first drive of the game in a 50-6 win over Bethel when he punched in a touchdown from 13 yards out. He was a key contributor in the running game with 9 carries for 49 yards and a touchdown.

Another hot hand for Tecumseh was quarterback Brayden James. In the first half James was 5-of-7 for 75 yards and two touchdowns. James finished 8-13 for 98 yards and two touchdowns.

“We did great,” James said. “Our receivers were catching everything I was throwing to them. The blocking was great and the running game was just as good.”

At the end of the first half Tecumseh was up 30-0 on Bethel.

“I was pretty pleased with our effort,” Tecumseh head coach Jason Murray said. “There was a couple series where we shot ourselves in the foot but we addressed those things at halftime and we played a much better game the second half.”

Tecumseh's intensity was they key factor in the second half, as they scored another 20 points.

“The only thing we told them in the locker room was we shot ourselves in the foot on two series in the first half,” Murray said. “We had only one series where we sputtered on offense but I thought we came out and played good football in the second half.”

Even though Bethel was down 30-0 at halftime, the team did not give up.

“We are very young as far experience goes,” Bethel head coach Jason Madonna said. “We are going to take our lumps and they understand this is a process. Our focus is to get better one day at a time.”

Early in the fourth, Tecumseh lineman Gabe Raney returned a blocked field goal for a 70-yard touchdown.

Bethel got on the board in the fourth quarter when quarterback Austin Acklin connected with James Lindsay on a 7-yard touchdown.

“The guys know my expectations and that is to play every play no matter what the score is,” Madonna said.

Acklin finished the game 7-17 for 64 yards, one touchdown and threw one interception.

Next week, Bethel (0-2) will face Okemah in their homecoming game. Kickoff is scheduled for 7.

Tecumseh (1-0) will face Seminole at home with a kickoff time of 7:30.
