MEEKER — The Bulldogs of Meeker owned the trenches Friday night in whipping Stroud 20-6 in a District 2A-2 conflict.
Meeker, 2-3 overall, rushed for 302 yards on 49 carries for a 6.1 yard average.
Stroud, 3-3 overall and 0-2 in 2A-2, managed just 93 yards on 38 carries.
Senior linebacker Dakota Jackson chalked up eight solo tackles and four assisted tackles.
Quarterback Jacob Martin of Meeker was the game’s top rusher with 112 yards on 15 carries, including a 64-yard touchdown in the second quarter as Meeker went up 20-0.
Martin hooked up with Justin Keith for an 8-yard touchdown pass to launch the scoring, and Elijah Bloomer’s 1-yard TD run put Meeker up 14-0 after one quarter. Meeker led 20-6 at the half.
Stroud’s touchdown came on a 6-yard run by Cody Paige.
Bloomer rushed for 68 yards on 13 carries. Freshman teammate Dakota Gabbert added 66 yards on six rushes.
Martin connected on 7 of 11 passes for 98 yards without an interception. Keith had two catches for 54 yards.
Jackson rushed for 50 yards and caught three passes for 28 yards.
Keith posted four solo tackles. Bulldog sophomore Dawson Stansberry claimed an interception.
Meeker will entertain district foe Northeast at 7 p.m. Friday.
