EDMOND – The Shawnee boys took second as a team Friday at Edmond Santa Fe in one of their best races of the season.
Brice Koons led the Wolves with a time of 17:27.4 to take 12th place and Clifford Littleton finished two back with a time of 17:34.9, good enough 14th. Colby Chamblin came in 20th (17:34.8) to round out the top 20 in a pack of 140. Kyle Henry (18:26.1), Buddy Cahall (18:26.8) and Jacob Cahall (18:27.5) provided a scoring boost, taking 39th, 40th and 42nd.
Tecumseh raced in the event as well, taking 18th as a team with Jeremy Wagoner (18:33.3) taking the top finish for the Savages on a 46th place finish.
The Lady Wolves were unable to field enough runners for the team competition, but Summer Johnson (23:12.4) finished 38th, Mackenzie McDaniel (23:42.1) took 51st and Anna Dowhower (24:50.1) came in 72nd in a field of 108.
Tecumseh's Kayla McGruder finished 12th with a time of 21:09.2 as the Lady Savages finished 13th as a team.
