TECUMSEH — State tournament bound.
That’s where Tecumseh’s record-setting fast-pitch squad is headed after destroying Oologah 10-0 Thursday in a Class 4A regional matchup.
The Lady Savages had to lose twice Thursday after recording Wednesday victories of 11-0 over Poteau and 10-0 against Oologah –Talala.
Tecumseh, 36-4, eclipsed the school’s previous single-season victory record of 34 set by the 2015 squad.
The 4A state tournament will begin Thursday at Oklahoma City’s Hall of Fame Stadium. Tecumseh’s opening-round opponent has yet to be determined.
Thursday’s game was stopped after six innings on the run rule. The Lady Savages scored in five of the frames, including 3-spots in the second and fourth innings.
Tecumseh rocked two pitchers for 13 hits. Channing Scallorn and Taylor Walker led the way at 3-of-4 with Walker collecting a double. Walker also drove in three runs.
Suni Meely and Sierra Humphrey notched two hits apiece with Humphrey registering a double.
Tecumseh pitcher Caitlin Bingham, who went all six innings, surrendered just two hits.
Bingham whiffed two and walked just one. Fifty-nine of her 80 pitches were strikes.
Bingham also drove in a run on a sacrifice fly, as did teammate Franki Hull.
Carly Scallorn had two stolen bases for the victors. Channing Scallorn and Meely recorded one apiece.
