MAUD – Maud squeaked by with a 28-26 win over Caddo Friday night to move to 5-1 on the season in their District B-5 opener.

Kash Bodkin threw 265 yards on 18 completions with one interception and Devon Reid threw a 50-yard completion for a combined 315 yards through the air to Caddo's 106 to make up for a rushing gap.

Bodkin put the first touchdown on the board for Maud with a 3-yard run and completed a pass to Reid for a conversion to take an 8-6 lead with 47 seconds left in the first. Caddo quickly responded with a 49-yard run to take back a 12-8 lead but missed out on their conversion

The teams continued trading blows through the game.

Bodkin grouped with Reid on a 24-yard pass with 3:52 left in the game to take over 28-26 and the defense stuffed Caddo's offense for the win.

Caddo's rushing game dominated with 222 yards on the ground while Bodkin led the Tigers' 86 rushing with 52 yards on 11 attempts.

The Tigers travel to Maysville next week.
