MAYSVILLE – Devon Reid was a jack-of-all-trade Thursday night as Maud turned to the air for an important 32-24 victory over District B-5 foe Maysville.

Maysville dominated the rushing aspect 239-49, but Maud quarterback Kash Bodkin threw for 201 yards on 13 of 27 attempts. He suffered one interception.

Reid was Bodkin’s primary receiver with seven catches for 87 yards, including a 19-yard touchdown at the 7:44 mark of the fourth quarter which put Maud up 24-16.

Four Maud players finished with a combined minus-26 yards rushing, but Reid chalked up 75 yards on 11 carries, including a 43-yard touchdown at the 10:01 mark of the third quarter. That gave the Tigers their first lead at 18-16.

Maud trailed 16-12 at the half with its touchdowns coming on 32 and 25-yard catches by Caleb Troxell.

Maud’s biggest lead, 32-16, came with 6:04 remaining as Troxell ran 42 yards with a fumble recovery.

Garrett Roberts of Maysville had touchdown receptions of 13 and 10 yards, the latter coming with just 1:33 to play.

Reid was also Maud’s leading tackler with 17, followed by Ryan Bowers with 15, Brady Arms with 14 and Rowdy McFall with 13.

Maud improved to 6-1 overall and 2-0 in the district. Maysville is 4-3 and 1-1. Maud, Maysville and Allen started the weekend with 1-0 district records. Allen entertained Strother Friday night.

Maud will be home against Macomb Thursday in another B-5 clash.
