Prague 3-0 against Stroud on year

STROUD — Jackson Jacobs accounted for 15 points and Tristin Jorgensen added 13, catapulting Prague to a 57-40 victory over Stroud Tuesday night.

Jacobs registered three of Prague’s six field goals from beyond the 3-point line.

Matt Headley knocked down two shots from 3-point range en route to 9 points

Prague, in defeating Stroud for the third time in as many meetings, led 31-21 at the half.

Cody Paige was Stroud’s high scorer with 12, followed by Gant Bradshaw with 11. Bradshaw had two treys.

“Overall, we played fairly well,” Prague coach Ray Headley said. “It’s hard to beat someone three times. It took awhile to get going. I felt like we had a few too many turnovers, but we overcame that and the kids played hard. They always give good effort and Stroud is a big rivalry.”

Prague (16-3) will travel to Tecumseh Friday night. The boys will kick off the doubleheader at 6:30.

Burnett empties bench in 60-37 win

STROUD — Prague girls’ coach Benny Burnett emptied his bench Tuesday night in a 60-37 triumph over Stroud.

Eleven Prague players got in the scoring column, topped by Savanna Hilbun with 13 and Ella Schultz with 12.

Prague (12-7) was never seriously challenged after bolting to a 12-3 lead after one quarter. The lead grew to 24-12 by halftime and 45-25 after three quarters.

Hilbun and Macyn Anderson posted two 3-point field goals apiece for Prague. Anderson finished with 8 points.

Stroud did not have a 3-point field goal.

Ashland Young was Stroud’s only double-figure scorer with 13. Kurstyn Young and Caelyn Hunter added 7 points apiece.

Prague was 18 of 30 from the charity stripe. Stroud was 11 of 18.

“It was a nice win. Everybody got in the game for us,” Burnett said.

Prague is 2-0 against Stroud this season.

The Lady Red Devils will play Friday night at Tecumseh. It will be their first matchup this season opposite the Lady Savages.
