TECUMSEH — Down 37-30 at the intermission, Seminole went on a 39-25 second-half binge to rally past Tecumseh 69-62 Tuesday night.

Shemmario Stephens of Seminole notched 26 points, including a 9 of 9 effort at the free throw line.

Seminole was 24 of 29 from the line for 82.7 percent. Chieftain Will Cotner totaled 11 points, including three of Seminole’s seven treys.

Tecumseh (10-10) was 10 of 25 from the 3-point line with Zathan Bowman hitting four treys — all in the opening half.

Bowman finished with 14 points.

Tecumseh senior Daniel Axton collected a game-high 28 points, including an impressive 20 of 23 from the line for 86.9 percent. Tecumseh was 20 of 27 overall at the charity stripe.

Senior Kyle Fleming of Tecumseh converted two 3-point field goals in the opening quarter.

“Our free throw shooting bailed us out a little bit,” Seminole coach Josh Edenborough said. “We kind of laid an egg Friday night at Holdenville.”

Tecumseh dropped to 10-10.

“We got off to a great start,” Tecumseh coach Eric Litherland said. “We have had a hard time finishing games and getting defensive stops.”

Seminole (12-4) will entertain Okemah Friday night.
