Lady Bison National Signing Day Recap
SHAWNEE – Oklahoma Baptist women’s soccer added eight new recruits Wednesday on National Signing Day.
The Lady Bison additions include two forwards, three midfielders, two defenders, and a goalkeeper. Student-athletes from Oklahoma, Texas, and Colorado comprise the incoming class.
“It’s been a great day, I feel like we definitely got better today. It’s a very strong class,” said OBU head coach Mike White. “Every single girl will push for playing time, so I’m excited about that.”
Seven players will enter the 2017-18 season as freshmen, and Emily Griffith is a sophomore transfer from the University of New Mexico.
“I look forward to solidifying [OBU] as a solid, immediate contender in [NCAA Division II].”
Men’s Soccer Wraps Up National Signing Day
SHAWNEE – Oklahoma Baptist men’s soccer added four new recruits Wednesday on National Signing Day.
The reigning Great American Conference champions picked up a new goalkeeper and three new midfielders. New Bison include three Oklahoma residents and one new player from Colorado.
“It looks like we have a really good recruiting class this year. It’s probably our most complete class that I feel like we’ve had since I’ve been here,” said Bison head coach Anthony Yousey.
All four players will enter the 2017-18 academic year as freshmen at OBU.
“We have several players that look to make an immediate impact on our program next year.”
