ARDMORE — Shawnee’s No. 1 doubles team of Hayden Powell and Rose Templeton went 2-1 Saturday at the Ardmore Tournament to finish fifth.

Powell-Templeton lost their first matchup against Ardmore but followed with victories over Piedmont (6-1, 6-0) and OCS (6-3, 6-0).

The Lady Wolves’ No. 2 doubles team of Lyla Boutdara-Stout and Kayla Garza went 1-2, defeating Altus 6-4, 4-6, 10-7, en route to a fourth-place finish.

Karsyn Reed, Shawnee’s No. 1 singles performer, placed sixth after going 1-2. The win (7-5, 6-2) came against Ardmore.

Shawnee’s No. 2 singles entrant, Boutdara-Stout, went 0-2.

Shawnee finished fifth in a seven-team field.

The SHS girls competed Monday at the Guthrie Tournament.

On the boys’ side at the Ardmore Tournament, the No. 2 doubles team of Cody Parham/AJ Howard went 1-2 to place fourth.

The SHS boys will compete at the Guthrie Tournament Wednesday.
