CARL ALBERT – The Shawnee boys took first and the girls finished sixth out of 16 teams at the Carl Albert Invitational Friday.

The boys 4x800 relay team started strong with a first place finish in 8:22.63 and the 4x400 relay took first with a 3:27.80.

The boys ruled the hurdles with first place finishes in both the 110 and 300. Parker Jones (16.15) took first in the 110 hurdle, followed by Kylan Hernandez (16.53) for third. In the 300 it was Darrius Blackshire who led the way with a 40.75 finish while Hernandez finished third again with a time of 41.54.

Brice Koons took third in the lengthy 3200-meter race with a time of 10:37.49 and Christian Patterson finished fifth in the 400-yard dash in 52.22.

Patterson took first in the pole vault with a height of 15-0 and Parker Jones finished in second with the same 15-0 topper.

Girls

Shyra Crowley took first in the girls 100 hurdle (16.31) and second in the long jump with a height of 17-06. Madison Converse finished in 17.14 in the 100 hurdle for fourth before boosting to a second place finish of 47.85 in the 300 hurdle trailed by Alexis Ward in fourth with a 48.61.

Haley Wood won the pole vault with a 10-06 height and the girls 4x400 relay team took fourth in 4:15.78.

The Shawnee track team will host the Shawnee Invitational at home Friday.
