ASHER — Three Asher hurlers combined for a five-hitter Friday as Asher toppled Stonewall 6-4.
Starter Braden Sanders , a junior, allowed four runs and four hits in four innings. Sanders fanned six and walked three.

Sophomore Jake Dobbs, who came in with two outs in the top of the seventh, walked a batter but ended the game with a strikeout.
Sanders got the win to move to 1-0.
Chase Eckart led Asher’s seven-hit attack with three singles. Dobbs added a two-run double.
Stonewall led 4-3 going into the bottom of the fourth, only to have Asher tally two runs. Asher added a single run in the fifth.
“You could tell that both teams had been off a week because of the rain,” Asher coach Shane Coker said. “We are young, with just one senior who plays on a daily basis. Stonewall is probably a top-10 team in Class A. so that was a good day for us.”
Asher, 2-1, will travel to Calvin Monday for a 4 p.m. varsity/JV doubleheader. Coker’s squad will compete in the Roff Tournament Thursday through Saturday.
