Clifford Littleton finished fourth overall and the Shawnee boys took second as a team to open the cross country season Saturday at Piedmont.

Littleton finshed in 18 minutes, 12.22 seconds and Kyle Henry was just a few steps behind with an 18:15.79 finish for fifth.

Brice Koons (18:24.79) took seventh and Clay Dominy (19:33.81) finished in 23rd to wrap up the top 25 racers for the Wolves. Buddy Cahall finished in 19:42.46 for 26th.

Coach Aaron Partridge said Littleton, Henry and Koons kept the momentum going from last year's state track meet and was pleased with their showing.

“Any time you can have three guys in the top ten you can't be disappointed,” he said.

The boys will get a week off from having to run a race as the girls travel to Guthrie Saturday, August 26 for their opener. The first all team meet will be at Carl Albert on September 1.
