SHAWNEE – Bethel added a couple of wins Saturday to start what coach Chad Smith hopes is a turnaround for his girls. The Lady Wildcats powered over Panama 10-3 and followed up with a 9-0 blasting over Clinton in the final day of the OK Shootout at FireLake.
Jordyn Zachary gave up one hit and struck out eight in the shutout against Clinton to finish a successful day in the circle.
Mya Green singled to center to drive in Karlie Lamb in the second and followed up with a two-run double in the third in the midst of a six-run rally to go ahead 7-0. Lamb drove in her third run of the game with a single in the fourth. Zachary and Lamb scored were sent home after Lamb was hit by a throw to third.
Maylin Hladik hit the ground running in the game against Panama, with an RBI double in the bottom of the first to take a 1-0 lead. The Lady Wildcats rallied with three more in the second, including a triple from Rian Gamble to bring in Peyton Meiler and tacked on another five runs in the third.
Jordyn Zachary gave up two runs on two hits and struck out eight batters in the game to get the win from the circle. Brandi Fullbright replaced her in the fifth and struck out five in two innings, giving up one run.
Gamble went 2-for-4 and drove in three runs to lead the Lady Wildcats. Reanna McGowen was 2-3 with two RBI and Fullbright went 1-2 and drove in a run.
The Lady Wildcats (4-5) host Seminole Monday at 5:00 p.m.
