The Shawnee cross country team is currently having a fundraiser on crowdfunding web site Snap-raisewith donations going to equipment upgrades, field and travel costs and uniforms.

“Donations will be used to cover the cost necessary to run a high school program,” the page says. “Donations will ensure that our athletes get the proper equipment to perform.”

In a personal message on the web page, coach Aaron Partridge thanks supporters and those viewing the page for helping the team and spreading the word.

“Our young men and women have been working hard to properly represent this great school and town,” he said. “With your help we can make sure they have all the tools necessary to be the best runners they can be!”

The web site allows pre-set donations starting at $35 for new practice uniforms up to a $1,000 donation that would cover travel expenses for the whole team. Custom donations are also allowed for any amount greater than $10.

As of Thursday afternoon the page had raised $1,810 out of a goal of $3,000.
