CHANDLER — Meeker sophomore quarterback Jacob Martin threw for four touchdowns and ran for two others Friday night as Meeker blasted Chandler 48-6 in a Lincoln County non-district encounter.

Oh yeah, Martin punted five times and claimed an interception.

The statistics didn’t lie as to Meeker’s dominance. The Bulldogs compiled 590 yards of offense to 173 for the Lions.

Meeker (1-1) also chalked up 24 first downs to five for Chandler (0-3).

Martin completed 18 of 27 passes for 309 yards, including touchdowns to Xavier Marquase (33 yards), Dawson Stansberry (29), Caden Wolford (15) and Josh Whitfield (35).

Martin also chalked up 139 yards on 10 carries, including the first two touchdowns on runs of 20 and 54 yards.

Senior Brett Roach of Meeker was the game’s leading rusher with 155 yards on 22 attempts, including a 4-yard TD. Roach was also Meeker’s top tackler with six.

Stansberry was Meeker’s top receiver with 86 yards on four catches. Dakota Gabbert caught four passes for 84 yards.

Chandler’s touchdown came on a 49-yard run by junior Chabon Anderson in the second quarter.

Meeker didn’t commit a turnover while Chandler finished with three.

Meeker’s biggest problems was penalties — 16 for 112 yards.

Meeker will launch its home campaign Friday against Okemah. Chandler will travel to Luther Friday.
