MIDWEST CITY — Shawnee, thanks to an 11-3 victory over Chickasha, went 1-1 Friday at the Carl Albert Tournament.

In its first game of the day, the Lady Wolves dropped a 13-1 decision to Class 6A Mustang. The game was stopped after 3 ½ innings.

Shawnee trailed Chickasha 3-2 entering the bottom of the fifth inning but combined four hits with four walks and an error for a nine-run explosion. The eight-run rule came into play while Shawnee as still batting in the fifth.

Winning pitcher Baylie Enright struck out nine and walked three in five innings.

Freshman Carlie Torbett recorded her first high school home run for the Lady Wolves.

Brittany Harmon went 3 for 3 with a double and a run batted in.

Kristin Haddox was 2 for 3 with a double and two RBI while Sadie Smith was 2 for 3 with a two-bagger and scored three times. Skyla Copeland had a run-scoring single.

Enright took the loss versus Mustang after two innings of work. Nariah Perez pitched an inning for Shawnee.

Torbett and Harmon doubled. Tiara Blackshire scored Shawnee’s run after singling.

Shawnee, 12-7, will close out its play at the Carl Albert Tournament today with a 10 a.m. matchup with Muskogee and a 3 p.m. clash with Putnam City. Muskogee and Putnam City are Class 6A members.
