MONKEY ISLAND, Okla.- The Cavaliers men's golf team closed out their fall season at the MSSU Invite in Monkey Island, Okla. The tournament took place at the Shangri-La Country Club, and the Cavs finished in a tie for 14th place out of 16 teams on the 6,788 yard, par 72 course. The first two rounds of the tournament took place on Monday when SGU shot team scores of 296 and 311. St. Gregory's sat in a tie for 3rd place at the end of the first round, but fell to a tie for 7th place at the end of round two. The Cavs shot their worst round of the tourney in the third and final round on Tuesday, and they dropped into a tie for 14th to close the tournament.

Nathan Roy (JR/Topeka, Kan.) led the Cavaliers as he finished the tournament in a tie for 21st place, by shooting a total score of 228. Roy's best round came in the very first round, when he shot an impressive score of 72 to make par. Jake Bay (FR/Shattuck, Okla) finished in a tie for 48th place with a final score of 236 after three rounds. Bay's best round came about when he shot a 73 in the first round. Grant Sikes (FR/Muskogee, Okla) followed closely behind Bay, by shooting for a final score of 239, and a tie for 64th place. Morgen Pettigrew (SR/Shawnee, Okla.) finished the tourney with a score of 242 after three rounds, and Braden Ricks (SO/Shawnee, Okla.) finished with a score of 243.

The Cavs will now practice, train, and prepare for the Spring when they'll look to battle for the SAC title.
