Shawnee split its games with Harrah last week. The Wolves’ double-digit win was enough to raise them to the No. 17 spot in 6A. The Lady Wolves lost to 4A No. 1 Harrah in overtime. Voters showed respect for both programs by dropping Shawnee only one spot to No. 17 in the 6A girls’ rankings.

Shawnee heads to El Reno Tuesday. The Lady Indians are 5A’s No. 5 team and El Reno is the No. 7 boys team in 5A.

The Dale Lady Pirates stayed at No. 2 in 2A after winning two games to improve to 5-0. Cashion had been No. 1 in 2A but defending champs Christian Heritage jumped the Lady Pirates and Cashion to take the top spot and Cashion fell to No. 3. The voting point totals for the top three teams was 1,280, 1,262 and 1,256. Voters aren’t sure which of the top three are the best but they know all three are very good teams.

On the boys’ side of 2A, Dale only dropped to No. 6 after losing to Okarche before holding off rival Bethel Friday night.

The Pirates take on 5A Noble in the OBU tournament Thursday. The Lady Pirates take on 4A McLoud Thursday at OBU.

Class B No. 1 Earlsboro is 7-0 on the season and will play in the Little River Conference Tournament at North Rock Creek beginning Tuesday.

The only other area boys team in the Top 20 is Seminole in 4A. The Chieftains have two big wins to start the year. The No. 16 Chieftains host Wewoka Tuesday before heading to Prague Friday night.

Prague’s boys dropped out of the rankings after a loss to Meeker Saturday. The Lady Red Devils stayed at No. 7 after a big win to open the season at Meeker. Prague visits Stroud tonight before hosting Seminole Friday.

The final area team in the rankings is Asher’s girls. The Lady Indians are 4-2 on the year after losing to Stonewall and Bowlegs last week. The pair of losses only cost Asher one spot in the rankings as they from Class B No. 9 to No. 10 this week.
