SHAWNEE – The Shawnee Wolves were handed their third straight loss of the season Friday night in a 58-50 defeat at the hands of Ada after leading 31-23 at halftime.

Leading 11-10 with 2:31 left in the first, Carson Meier sunk the back end of two free throws to kick off a 12-point rally before Ada's Kobe Burgess was fouled on a jumper and hit his free-throw to end the drought. Ada sank two triples to finish the half with a 31-23 lead in favor of Shawnee.

Ada came out of the half with a vengeance and went on a 12-2 run to take a 35-33 lead a little more than halfway through the quarter. Buckets and leads were traded before Meier hit a jumper to go ahead 40-39 with a minute left before the fourth, but the final quarter was all Ada.

The Cougars gave up two points on free-throws from Donovan Neal before going on a 19-0 run. Tyler Huebert sank two free-throws to end the stretch. Meier received two technicals during the run – one a double technical with Ada's Clay Balthrop and another for hanging on the rim on an attempted dunk on a fast break that gave him his fifth foul.

Meier and Ramey Harrison finished with 13 points each to lead the Wolves and Huebert and Morris had seven apiece.

Shawnee travels to Miami for the KSA Events Tournament from Dec. 18-20 and will travel to Tulsa East Central in their first game of 2018, Jan. 4.
