Bethel came up just short of a road win at Okemah Friday night in a closely contested 54-53 loss at Okemah.

The Wildcats had a sizable 30-16 lead at halftime, but a 26-12 run in the third got Okemah back in the game and they won out the fourth 12-11 to take the victory.

Ben Pfieff led Bethel (5-2) with 20 points and Jaylon Gordon, Colin Meiler and Drae Wood each had eight.


The Lady Wilcats dropped to 4-3 on the season with a 42-37 loss at Okemah Friday night.

Brooke Shaw, Harley Gregory and Kirsten Winter each scored eight point to lead Bethel in the defeat.

Okemah's NaTaiya Wilson led all scorers with 18 points and Dariea Christnor had 13.

The Wildcats will host Jones Tuesday for their final game before Christmas break.
