MACOMB – The Macomb girls came up with a dominating 56-28 home win over Butner Friday night and the boys crushed their competition, 60-47.

The girls took an 11-3 lead by the end of the first and kept the hurt on to easily take the victory.

Mariah Carolina led all scorers with 16 points in the contest. Kelsey Dillon had 15 points, MaeLee Hancock had 12 and Ashton Powell contributed eight.


Trailing 9-8 after the first, the Macomb (6-7) boys took the lead and provided some seperation with a 17-9 run in the second. They let Butner back in during the third, but outscored again 24-14 in the fourth to seal the win.

Butner's Devin Sowder led all scorers with 22 points but their next best scorer only contributed eight.

Blaine Cope led Macomb with 16 points, Coby Mason had 12, Andrew Boydstun had ten and Darian Rougeux finished with nine points on three treys. Mason was 10-12 from the line and 6-6 in the fourth. The team was 19-24 from the charity stripe and 12-14 in the fourth.

Macomb will play in the Jim Walling Classic at Earlsboro, Jan. 4-6.
