SHAWNEE – A second half surge led the No. 18 in Class 6A Lady Wolves of Shawnee to a 44-25 win over Ada Friday night in  Shawnee's final game before the Christmas break. The Lady Wolves led Ada 20-17 after the first half but dominated the later minutes 24-8 to earn the blowout win.

Makyra Tramble spearheaded the second half attack with 15 points before exiting the game midway through the fourth as the reserves took the court.

The Lady Wolves trailed late in the first but finished on a 6-0 rally extending into the second to earn a 14-12 advantage. They finished the half with a 6-3 run to lead 20-17 at the break.

Kasey Rice earned a steal and put up a layup on the ensuing fast break to start off the second half and send Shawnee on a 10-3 run to get some seperation. Tramble hit two treys in the unanswered run.

Lillie Speed put an end to Ada's drought going back to the 3:31 mark in the second, with a 3-pointer at the buzzer to make it a 30-20 game going to the fourth.

Rice and Tramble finished the game with 15 points apiece and Monica Brooks had nine.

The Lady Wolves will play in the Duncan Tournament from Dec. 27-29 and will host Piedmont Jan. 9 in their first game back from the break.
