STROUD — Tecumseh’s Anthony Billy tallied 17 points Thursday but it wasn’t enough to offset Luther’s 74-61 triumph at the Stroud Coliseum Classic.

Zathan Bowman added 12 points for Tecumseh and Ryan Fullbright put in nine as the Savages dropped to 5-4.

Luther led just 34-30 at the intermission.

Jessie Cole, Luther’s leading scorer with 23, knocked down four 3-point field goals. Four Luther players were in double figures, including Tyler Becker with 20.

Tecumseh was 5 of 6 from the charity stripe.

The Savages will oppose the loser of Thursday’s Stroud-Oklahoma Christian game in today’s 3 p.m. consolations.

Girls

Preston outscored Tecumseh 8-6 in overtime to register a 66-64 victory.

Taylor Walker was Tecumseh’s scoring leader with 19, followed by Kilee Jones with 15 and Courtney Mansell with 12. Jones garnered four 3-point field goals.

Regulation play ended in a 58-58 tie. Preston hit a layup off an in-boumds play to tie the game at 58 with a minute to play in regulation.

Tecumseh (2-7) missed several shots in the final seconds of overtime.

Tecumseh will take on Stroud at 1:40 today.
