STROUD —Eleven Seminole players scored en route to a 76-32 thumping of Cushing Friday in consolation action of the Stroud Coliseum Classic.

Adam Nance, Trevor Brinker and Dayton Jackson shared Chieftain scoring honors with 11. Kason Clark added 10 and Jackson Bond put in nine.

Bond canned three shots from past the 3-point line and Clark added two long bombs.

Seminole (7-2) led 56-15 after three quarters.

“We brought some energy and played hard,” Seminole coach Josh Edenborough said. “We cut out some of our mental mistakes.”

Seminole will challenge Tecumseh in today’s 2:30 consolation championship game.

Girls

Seminole canned eight 3-point field goals but it wasn’t quite enough as Oklahoma Christian, thanks to a large free-throw advantage, registered a 46-42 Stroud Classic victory.

Abby Carter, Seminole’s top scorer with 14 points, was accurate on four treys.

Destiny Tiger finished with nine points, including two 3-pointers, while Hayden Harjo and Aubrey Kotchavar added a trey apiece.

OCS was 17 of 23 from the charity stripe. Seminole was just 3 of 6.

Lauren Cheatwood of Seminole collected a game-high 13 rebounds.

The Lady Chieftains will be idle until a Friday night game at Stroud.
