MEEKER— The Meeker Bulldogs held on for a 72-69 win over the Chandler Lions Tuesday night. Trailing 41-29 at the half, the Lions applied defensive pressure in the second half to make things interesting.

The Bulldogs jumped on Chandler early, taking a cozy 23-11 into the second quarter. Each team traded punches in the second quarter, 18 each, leaving the Bulldog advantage at a dozen.

Chandler proceeded to outscore Meeker 20-14 in the third, cutting the lead to 55-49 with eight minutes to play. The Bulldogs made enough plays down the stretch to hang on for the 3-point victory.

Meeker was led in scoring by Brett Roach who scored a game-high 22 points. Joe Coker and Josh Whittfield each had 14 for the Bulldogs.

Meeker improves to 6-5 on the season and the two teams will match up again next Monday night, in the first round of the conference tournament in Prague.

MEEKER— The Meeker Lady Bulldogs used a strong second half to down the Chandler Lady Lions 48-39 Tuesday night.

Chandler led 19-18 after the first half, but the Lady Bulldogs re-captured the lead in the third quarter and busted things open in the fourth. Meeker led 31-29 heading into the final quarter of play.

Meeker was led in scoring by Ashley Vanschuyver who had a game-high 25 points. Aubrey Pruitt joined Vanschuyver in double figures with 11.

Meeker outscored Chandler 17-10 in the final frame to earn their sixth win of the season.

Chandler was led by Lauren Masquat with 13 and Hannah Vanderbrand with a dozen.

The Lady Bulldogs are 6-6 on the season and are off this Friday to prepare for next weeks conference tournament which begins Monday in Prague.
