DALE—The Dale Lady Pirates made quick work of the OCS Lady Saints, Tuesday night, with a 76-37 victory. Dale improves to 13-1 on the year and are ranked third in Class 2A.

Dale outscored OCS 19-8 in the first quarter and took a 31-21 lead into the halftime break.

The Lady Pirates exploded for 27 points in the third quarter to put the Lady Saints away.

“We started the game a little sluggish and allowed them to control the tempo,” said Dale head coach Josh Forsythe. “We picked up the pace in the second half.”

Mikayla Rutland led Dale with 19 points including four three-pointers. Lindy Nowakowski hit for 16 while Claire Chastain netted nine. Chastain led Dale with eight rebounds. Elaine Witt dished out five assists for the Lady Pirates.

Dale will host Latta Friday night.

Boys

DALE—The Dale Pirates found themselves in a dog fight on Tuesday night and came away with a 44-39 win over the OCS Saints.

The Pirates trailed 23-18 at the half, but clawed their way into a tie at 29-29 heading into the fourth quarter. The Pirates outscored the Class 3A-sixth ranked OCS 15-10 to earn the five point win.

Logan Woodruff scored 20 for the Pirates while Trey Thompson collected 10.

OCS's Christian Gee led all scorers with 21 points. He was the only Saint in double digit scoring.

The Pirates, 6-8 on the season, will play host to Class 2A second ranked Latta on Friday.
