HARRAH— The Tecumseh Savages earned a huge road win on Tuesday night with a 59-56 victory over the Harrah Panthers.

“We made enough plays to come away with the win,” said Tecumseh head coach Eric Litherland. “We had some good finishes to quarter which really helped us.”

There was no finish bigger than the final minute of the first half. Harrah led 29-28, but two missed Panther shots and a Tecumseh steal led to six straight points and a 34-29 lead at the intermission.

Zathan Bowman led the Savages with 18 points while Josiah Mendoza collected nine points.

With the win, Tecumseh improves to 7-5 and a much needed boost coming off of a loss last Friday night.

“This was a really good win for us,” said Litherland. “They (Harrah) were coming off of three wins out in Weatherford.”

Tecumseh will play host to Little Axe this Friday night.

The Tecumseh Lady Savages jumped on the Harrah early Tuesday night, but it wasn't enough to pull the upset over the Class 4A top ranked Lady Panthers.

The Lady Savages exploded for 17 first quarter points before Harrah countered with a 48-9 advantage in the next 16 minutes to cruise to victory. Harrah led 35-21 at the half and 59-26 after three.

Taylor Walker led Tecumseh with 13 points while Annie Boatman added 8.

Tecumseh falls to 2-9 on the season and will host the Little Axe Lady Indians Friday night.
