CHANDLER — Thanks to a third-quarter dominance, Meeker’s girls continued their 2017-18 mastery of Chandler Tuesday night.
Meeker trailed 35-33 entering the final quarter but outscored its host 13-5 down the stretch fir a 46-40 triumph.
Chandler, 10-8 on the year, is 3-0 against Stroud.
Ashley VanSchuyver of Meeker was the game’s leading scorer with 19. Lexi Lopez chipped in with 10 for Prague.
Emily Trevino, Liz Jones, VanSchuyer and Lopez had one 3-point field apiece for the victors.
Meeker was 10 of 18 from the line, including 4 of its final 6. Chandler was 5 of 9.
“Ashley shot it well and played really well,” Meeker coach Clay Plunk said.
Lauren Masquat led Chandler with 12 points. Teammate Hannah Anderson finished with 10.
Chandler went on a 23-15 fourth-quarter spree to knock off Meeker 57-47.
Chebon Anderson of Meeker collected 18 points.
For Meeker, Josh Whitfield was the leading scorer with 24, followed by Dylan Thomas with 9. Thomas had Meeker’s only 3-point field goal.
Whitfield tallied 14 points in the opening half as Chandler held a 21-16 advantage.
Meeker (9-8) will host Stroud Friday as part of homecoming. The boys’ game will launch the evening. Saturday, both Meeker squads will play at Prague.
