Shawnee’s girls saw their record evened at 1-1 Friday night by dropping a 7-0 decision to Jenks.

“I couldn’t be more proud. We played a solid 80 minutes of soccer,” Shawnee coach Danny Kesner said. “We had some injuries in the first half.”

Charis Montgomery, Amanda Harris and Lilly Perry of Shawnee left the game in the first half and didn’t return.

“The injuries weren’t anything serious. We were just following protocol,” Kesner said. “We didn’t want to rush anything.”

Shawnee launched its season Thursday night with a 1-0 road win at Hilldale.

Friday night, goalkeeper Braunya Lewis of Shawnee recorded 12 saves out of 19 shots.
