ASHER – It was one win and one loss for Asher Monday in a three-way with Allen and Roff at Asher. The No. 8 in Class B Indians took down Class A No. 18 Allen 9-0 before falling to No. 2 in Class A Roff 11-5.

Trevor Martin had a nice game from the plate and the mound in the win over Allen.

Martin (2-0) tossed the complete game to give up two hits and struck out 11 for the win. His 3-run bomb in the sixth activated the run-rule for the walk-off.

Martin had two hits for 5 RBI in the contest and Brock Williamson doubled and drove in a run.

Jake Dobbs was handed the loss as the first of three Asher pitchers retired against Roff.

Dobbs gave up seven runs on four hits in 2 2/3 innings pitched to be handed the loss in his first appearance at the bump this season. Junior Hasbell replaced Dobbs in the third and gave up two runs on three hits in 2 1/3 innings of work. Michael McDonald closed things out and allowed two runs on four hits.

The team committed six errors behind the pitching squad.

The 2-2 Indians travel to Strother Thursday for a three-way with Strother and Paden. Asher was originally scheduled to host 3A Star-Spencer Friday, but the game has been canceled due to Star-Spencer taking part in the state basketball tournament.
