MAUD — Maud required just four innings of offense Thursday to sweep a doubleheader from Sasakwa, 37-1 and 12-0.
Both contests were stopped after 2 ½ innings via run rules.
In the opener, Maud collected 27 hits with Madison Whitman and Jocee Sparks contributing five apiece.
Sparks smashed two home runs, 2 triples and a double. Whitman collected 2 doubles.
Jada Wright posted 2 triples and 2 doubles. Jordan Brewer, the winning pitcher, recorded an inside-the-park home run, a double and a single. Aubrey Tuttle also had an inside-the-park roundtripper to go along with a double and a single.
Whitman earned the pitching victory in the nightcap.
Maud finished with 12 hits as Sparks led the way with 2 home runs and a single. Tuttle added a triple while Autumn Harrington notched a home run among three hits.
Maud (4-2) will entertain New Lima at 5 p.m. Monday. The Lady Tigers will travel to Allen Tuesday for a 5 p.m. contest.
