CHANDLER – Meeker had a better day at the plate, but eight errors cost them dearly in a 12-9 road loss to Chandler Monday. The Bulldogs had 13 hits to Chandler's five and the Lions scored seven unearned runs.

Trailing 7-0 after the first two innings, Jacob Martin singled to drive in a run and Raceton Sedlacek doubled to score Martin to make it a 7-2 game in the top of the third. Chandler added a run in the bottom frame but Meeker bounced back with a 6-run rally in the top of the fourth capped on a two-run single by Jacob Sellers to tie up at 8. Budgie Cameron singled to score Cade Patterson in the top of the fifth, but the lead was short-lived.

Chandler reached on two errors to start the bottom of the fifth and scored a run to tie up at 9. The Lions tacked on three runs in the sixth and never batted in the seventh.

Martin, Cameron, Sellers, James Green and Johnny Jones had two hits and Patterson, Sedlacek and Martin each drove in two runs. Patterson and Sedlacek each doubled.

Dakota Gabbert got the start on the mound and gave up three earned runs on two hits in one inning pitched. Sellers threw five innings and gave up two earend runs on three hits. He struck out two and walked five.

Meeker (4-2) hosts Okemah today at 4:30 p.m. Chandler moves to 3-2 on the season with the win and will travel to Perkins today at 5.
