ALLEN – Prague added three wins to their record with victories over Strother and the Allen JV and Varsity squads Friday at the Allen Festival. The Lady Devils took down Strother 12-0, Allen JV 16-4, and Allen varsity 5-3.
Josi Goodman sent a two-run shot to left to cap off a 10-run rally by Prague in the bottom of the first against Strother. Rachel Rumsey started things off with a sacrifice to bring in Macyn Anderson and Goodman, Anderson, Gracie Hightower and Brittany Harwell each drove in runs on doubles and Kaylee Hacker singled to bring home a run.
Rumsey, Goodman and Anderson drove in two runs apiece.
Prague 16, Allen JV 4
Anderson and Beth Denney each homered against Allen JV and the girls rallied for 15 runs over two innings.
Anderson homered to lead off the bottom of the first and cut a 2-0 Allen lead in half and Denney went a two-run shot to left to go ahead 10-2 in the second.
Anderson, Harwell and Hightower each had three hits and Denney and Hacker added two apiece. Andreson drove in four runs, Denney three and Rumsey, Hightower and Hacker each brought in two. Adisyn Auld, Harwell and Hightower each doubled.
Prague 5, Allen 3
Anderson homered to lead off the first again in the Allen varsity game and Rumsey later doubled to score Auld and go ahead 2-0.
Allen got three back on consecutive errors in the top of the third, but an RBI single by Harwell and two-run single by Hightower in the bottom frame gave the Lady Devils the lead back and they held on to take the win.
Auld went 2-3 as the only member of the Lady Devils with multiple hits and also cranked out a triple and scored twice. Denney and Hightower took two walks and Hightower drove in two runs.
The wins move the Lady Devils to 7-1 on the season.
