OKLAHOMA CITY — Tecumseh, propelled by five extra-base hits, upended McGuinness 9-4 Thursday at the Bill Tipton Classic at McGuinness High School.

The Savages scored four times in the bottom of the third inning as Tristin Anthony drove in a run with a single and Caleb Kelsey cracked a three-run home run on a 2-2 count. That put Tecumseh up 5-2.

After McGuinness narrowed the count to 5-4, Kane Ainsworth recorded a two-run double in the bottom of the fifth for a 7-4 Savage advantage.

Jayden Shafer tripled while Byron Thompson and Anthony doubled as Tecumseh finished with 10 hits.

Anthony, the starting and winning pitcher, gave up eight hits and four runs (three earned) in 4 2/3 innings. He whiffed seven and walked three.

Kullen Meadows got the last four outs. Meadows didn’t permit a walk and fanned two.

Tecumseh, 13-12, will continue Bill Tipton Classic play today with games against Grove at 12:30 and the OKC Broncos at 3 at McGuinness High School.
