McLOUD — Top-ranked Dale outlasted McLoud 22-17 Tuesday in a county matchup which featured 41 hits and 10 home runs.
Dale (28-2) received a 5-of-5, two-homer outing from Jobey Savage. Savage also claimed a triple, two singles and a game-high eight runs batted in. She had a two-run HR in the fifth and a three-run HR in the seventh.
Delanie Manning of Dale smashed a three-run roundtripper in the second to go along with two singles.
Also homering for the Lady Pirates were Emlia Idleman, Lacey Savage, Skylar Thompson and Mikayla Rutland. Idleman, Savage and Rutland had solo homers while Thompson delivered a two-run blow. Sara Lock of Dale added three singles.
Dale pounded out 22 hits.
McLoud received home runs from Katelyn Hoover, Callie Cardin and Jessie Wooten. Four McLoud players — Hoover, Cardin, Shyann Shipman and Gabby Sears — recorded three hits.
McLoud (18-9), will be the No. 1 seed and a host in a Class 5A, double-elimination district Thursday. Purcell and Plainview will kick off the action at noon with McLoud opposing the loser at 1:30.
Dale will entertain Wellston Thursday in district action with the first pitch at 4:30. Dale will be home against Tecumseh Monday and travel to Perkins-Tryon Tuesday.
