OKTAHA — The Pirates of Dale held a 2-0 lead after 1 ½ innings, only to drop a 3-2 decision to Oktaha Thursday.
Oktaha tied the contest at 2 in the fourth, then scored the winning run in the bottom of the seventh.
Leadoff hitter David Herring drove in both Dale runs with a second-inning single. All eight Pirate hits were singles.
Drew Reed was the only other Pirate multiple hitter, going 2-for-3. Reed and Carson Hunt scored Dale’s runs.
Dale starter Blake McQuain, who went the first six innings, allowed four hits and three runs, only one of which was earned. Dale committed two errors while Oktaha was errorless.
McQuain fanned six and walked two.
Herring, who relieved McQuain in the seventh, took the loss.
Dale, 15-7, will be home at 4:30 today against Christian Heritage.
