TECUMSEH—It was one of those days for the Lady Savages Thursday. Class 6A ninth-ranked Tecumseh played host to a three-way with the sixth ranked Choctaw Lady Yellowjackets and the 10th ranked Mustang Lady Broncos Thursday evening and came up on the very short end of things. They lost 22-2 to Mustang then were blanked 14-0 by Choctaw.
In the opener, Mustang hit the ball over the park, 25 hits to be exact, with three of the hits going over the outfield fence. The Lady Broncos scored six runs in the first then followed that up with a 16 run outburst in the second.
The Lady Savages scored their two runs in the bottom of the second, both with two outs. Taylor Frizzell doubled to left field and Lacy Howell reached on an infield single. Ayzia Shirey drove Frizzell home on a single to right. Howell was then brought home on a single to centerfield by Channing Scallorn.
Scallorn and Shirey each went 1-for-2 and drove in a run in the first game. The Lady Savages had just four hits in the three inning run rule.
Game two was much more of the same with Choctaw.
The Yellowjackets scored a run in the top of the first and increased the lead to 4-0 after two innings of of play. Choctaw benefited from three straight walks, an errant throw and just a single hit to score the three runs. Choctaw added two more runs in the third and finally eight more in the top of the fourth.
The Lady Yellowjackets scored their 14 runs on 10 hits.
Tecumseh had just two hits in the game.
Shirey had a single in the bottom of the first inning and Howell hit a double to right field in the bottom of the fourth to account for the Lady Savage's hits.
The Lady Savages drop to 18-15 with the two losses, but will have a chance to get back on track with a trip to Westmoore today.
