The Shawnee tennis team played in the Guthrie Tournament on Wednesday in what coach Mike Idleman called the Wolves' toughest 16-team tournament to date. He was happy with the results he got though.

“The guys played really well," he said.

Craig Ljungquist placed 11th at No. 1 singles and Cody Parman played in the consolation finals for No. 2 singles to place 10th.

No. 1 doubles team Brennan Roark and Zach Young and No. 2 doubles team of Logan Clayton and Will Jordan played some of the top teams in the state to place eighth and sixth.

Idleman feels like the guys are peaking at the right time and expects to make a run in their upcoming regional tournament.

The regional tournament will be held at Bixby on May 7th. Schools in attendance will be Shawnee, Bixby, Owasso, Norman, Stillwater, Muskogee, Sapulpa, and Putnam City North.
