PRAGUE – Down 4-0 after the top of the opening inning, Prague rallied for a 7-6 victory over Wellston Thursday.
The Red Devils, by scoring twice in their half of the first and three times in the third, tied the game at 5. Wellston retook the lead at 6-5 before the Red Devils notched two runs in the sixth to prevail.
Isaac Bloomer fueled Prague’s eight-hit attack with two doubles and three runs.
Mason Cooper was 2-of-4, both singles. Cooper, Jake Schultz and Konner Willis drove in runs in the third.
Schultz drove in a team-high three runs.
Bloomer and Alex Anderson stole two bases. Anderson, the leadoff hitter, scored three times.
Cooper, the pitching starter, gave up six runs (two unearned) and seven hits in four innings. He registered six strikeouts and three walks.
Schultz, who pitched the final three innings, didn’t allow a hit, fanned two and walked two.
Prague, 14-11, will be home against Latta at 4:30 Monday.
