The Shawnee girls tennis team placed sixth at the Pauls Valley Invitational at the OKC Tennis Center Friday.

Kayla Garza and Hayden Powell placed fourth in No. 2 doubles to complete the day with the best finish of the meet for the Lady Wolves. Garza and Powell beat the teams from Byng and Pauls Valley but lost to Mount St. Mary and Elk City.

Grace Bryant and Rose Templeton took fifth in No. 1 doubles and Olivia Stobbe placed fifth in No. 2 singles. Both won two matches and lost two matches.

Lyla Boutdara-Stout took seventh in No. 1 singles after beating Bryn Atkins 6-1, 6-4 in her final match of the day. She lost to Cameron Freeland of Pauls Valley and Reagan Benton of Elk City.

The Lady Wolves will play in the Durant Tournament next Tuesday.
