CUSHING – Southpaw Colby Mitchell stymied Tecumseh on a four-hitter Friday as Cushing racked up a 3-0 victory.
Mitchell walked one batter and fanned nine in a complete-game performance.
Cleanup hitter Tristin Anthony went 2-for-3 with Tecumseh’s only extra-base hit, a double. Kullen Meadows and Byron Thompson posted a single as Tecumseh fell to 15-17.
Tecumseh starting pitcher Jayden Shafer was very respectable, allowing four hits, walking five and striking out three. He gave up three runs (one unearned).
Meadows, who retired the side in order in the sixth, whiffed two. He threw just eight pitches.
Gage Boatman drew Tecumseh’s only walk.
Tecumseh made two errors while Cushing was errorless.
Tecumseh will entertain the Oklahoma City Broncos at noon today.
